Hello sleeping in!

     As I've mentioned in a previous post, I don't really like the holidays, but I am looking forward to sleeping in. There is nothing I hate more than waking up 5 minutes before my alarm is to go off knowing I have to wake up soon. The snooze button is one of my greatest friends yet it usually ends up screwing me over when I look like crap all day because I had no time to get ready. Its just really hard to wake up in the morning!
     I hate getting out of my bed. I have one of these athletic matresses so it's really damn comfy. Even my friends say it is super hard to get out of. On weekend days that I don't work, I can sleep till like 3 in the afternoon. It also helps that my room is extremely dark due to the fact that my only window is covered by a black sheet.
     So even though theres a lot of things I hate about the Christmas holidays, I just can't wait to get to sleep in till the early afternoon in my nice warm bed. That, and all the food my ma is gunna make! :)

The Who that Grinched Chrtistmas?

     Well, the question as to whether I am more of a Grinch or a Who poses a slight problem. You see, I seem to change according to how close D-day is approaching. Up until about the... 24th... I am a complete GRINCH. Like, I HATE shopping. I am almost always behind on it. So I get to rush around for a couple weeks trying to think of all the people I have to buy gifts for. Can you say STRESSFUL? I could also go without getting guilt trips from my lovely Father who likes to make me feel like S**T for not spending the holidays down there. I'm sorry but I cannot come up with one good reason as to why I would rather spend the holidays with Mr. Grumpy and do absolutely nothing Christmas-y at all when I can chill with my fam jam and eat craploads of awesome food and watch movies.
    When all that stuff finally comes to an end, theres no stopping all the fricken joy that radiates from me, usually around Christmas Eve when I can just chill and have no more worries. We usually watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Its pretty much tradition. My mom always makes caramel corn and cookies and sooooooo much food that I pretty much double my current body weight. Then when Christmas morning finally comes, me and my sister wake my little brother up first, just to tell him Santa came! We all then go jump on the parents and wake them up. I know its quite childish, but its tradition. I'll prolly still do it when I have my own family! :)

I am 'Mystery Activity' Free!!

I have made a wonderful choice that I think will benefit me quite well. Now, I'm not going to say exactly what that would be, for reasons that would be obvious if I did mention it, but I am going to somehow explain the benefits I hope to get from it. Yesterday as I was just chillin in english class, I started to want to pass out really bad. I was feeling really tired and could barely keep my eyes open, and I knew why. Right then and there, I decided to stop doing what it was that made me feel like that. I gave all the paraphenelia to my dearly trusted friend to reduce the temptation to engage in the mystery activity. Hopefully, I will lose all the weight I gained from some of the side effects of this activity. I also hope to heal some of the organs affected by this.

One of the main reasons I want to stop doing this is because I now see how it affects my mind and that affects my grades. I really want to graduate this year and have good enough grades to go to college and make something of myself, and this activity is getting in the way of that. So I would like to declare to the writers craft class that I, Courtney Leeann Duczman, am mystery activity free as of December 3rd, 2010!!

Letters of Note and Huffington Post..

Looking at the websites lettersofnote.com and huffingtonpost.com, I came to a few conclusions. First being that Letters of Note looks a lot more organized than Huffington Post, but it is also a lot more bland and boring. Huffington Post, on the other hand, has pictures and random links everywhere and I don't like how unorganized it looks, although it is a bit more interesting because it has a lot of pictures. If I had to choose one website to be named number one, I think I would choose Letters of Note because I think I have a slight case of OCD and get very irritated when things aren't organized. The site could maybe use a little colour and more intersting pictures, but I like how it is all in one straight line down the page instead of random blocks placed all over the place.

Young... Loves? Hahahhaha

      My longest relationship lasted from the first day of kindergarten to the last day of grade 3. His name was Kirby (I know, wierd... and no it wasn't the fluffy pink guy) and we were a perfect example of a young couple. He would draw me pictures and I would sometimes punch him. It was really cute. I remember every valentines, he would bring me a bag of cinnamon hearts, and I would even HUG him!!! And then there was Rememberance Day. I can't quite remember why, but I was quite upset with him... and in art we were drawing pictures for a Rememberance Day colouring contest. I drew a gravesite, everyone in my class had a grave, but only Kirby's grave was covered in blood and guts. I sure showed him eh... But anyways, we shared many great memories together, like how we ran SMACK right into eachother when we were playing tag once, we had a lovely date in the nurses office while she mended our little scrapes and bruises with her magic spray. I also remember my going away party, where he gave me a set of writing and mailing papers and envelopes so I could send him a letter or two every so often. We had a water fight and jumped on the trampoline. I have pictures of that day... cuuuuuuute. I even still talk to him on facebook! Maybe one day, we can start again from where we left off at the end of grade 3... Haha.

Anywhere eh?

Margarita and Cuba LibreIf I could transport myself anywhere for the whole weekend, I would most definately choose Cuba. Not only did I say Cuba for the most obvious reason of heat and sunshine, but also for the lack of drinking age. :) I haven't gotten drunk in a while and here in North America, it is a pain in the ass to find someone to buy us minors booze. I would really enjoy just chillin in the sun with a margarita in hand, getting a tan and forgetting about the crazy weather here that can't seem to make up its mind. I would settle for anywhere warm, really, but I would much prefer somewhere that will let me swim up to a bar and get an ice cold beer that I can drink, without having to hide it in a waterbottle in fear of having to dump it out infront of the cops. Yeah, Cuba sounds wonderful.

Pointless conversations... one of my many pet peeves.

     Something that quite often pisses me off is when I recieve a text message or other types of messages from someone and the conversation goes like this:
Them --> Hey.
Me <-- Hey whats up?
Them --> Nothing you?
Me <-- Nothing really, just chillin.
Them --> Cool.
     Like cool! Don't text me if you can't keep up a decent conversation. You just wasted about 10 minutes of my time to have the most pointless conversation ever, a conversation I could have most certainly lived without. I mean, what's the point of messaging me at all if you really have nothing to say to me? The only thing that has been established during this message is that we both have absolutely no lives.
     Its not as bad if you ask the person how they are or what they've been up to lately because you are actually concerned or curious, but most people are just too lazy to keep up a converstation. So I say, don't start a conversation and waste my time if you really have nothing to say and don't know how to keep up a conversation that you started.

Thanksgiving weekend... yay.

Every holiday, my family puts together some kind of big family dinner. I usually try to get out of these dinners, mainly because my family is kind of insane. My whole family just sits there and argues, the kids all fight, and my grandma constantly reminds us of her headache that we are all causing. Luckily, this year I get to work. All weekend. After all, getting paid time and a half sounds better than the lovely Szusz Family noise to me! :)

Cell phones...

     I just read the article "Debate rages over cellphones in Ontario classrooms" from parentcentral.ca. I think the article was very well written, the authors used direct quotes and I did not sence a bias from them. I agree with some of the things said in the article, like how it is disrespectful to use your cell phone when someone is teaching or presenting, but it's tempting if you are not interested in the subject being taught. I think WO should ease up a bit. Technology is evolving and we should keep up with it. If I were allowed to change the policy, I would make it so that they are to be off and away during lessons. I agree that it is very rude to text while someone is teaching you. If someone falls behind in work because they are always on their phones, thats their problem. I don't see a problem with using your phone if it's free work time, and if it's not your main focus.

About me!

My name is Courtney and I live in New Hamburg. I moved here in gr. 3 from a small town called Blyth. In my spare time, I like to hang out with my friends, read, listen to music and I especially love doing puzzles. I have a slight addiction to tea, and a gradually extending collection. I LOVE listening to metal. My ipod is my life and I think I would go slightly insane without it. If you wanna know more details, check out my "about me" section!
